Program Overview:

Do you wish to get into the film industry and someday direct your own films; the time to begin is right now.

Today, visual effects and motion graphics are integral part of communication, be it films, advertisement and commercials in theatres, televisions, mobile screens, computers or the print media. We experience this powerful form of communication every day and dream of creating our own work in this space. A professional diploma in VFX is the solution to turn dreams into reality.

The PDVFM programme with duration of 36 months is aimed at training students in both the art fundamentals and technical skills needed for the ever expanding and demanding visual effects industry.

With intensive classroom teaching by experienced faculty, to hands-on specialization through numerous external live projects and a final project submission the students develop the essential creative and technical skills to become an accomplished professional.

The course will make the students adept in the use of the latest software, high definition cameras, studio equipment and green screen technology so as to equip them in creating visual effects and motion graphics at par with industry standards.

To prepare students with the demands and skills needed in VFX space, the academy gives opportunity to participate in national and international festivals and competitions. This helps them in developing show-reel which meets the quality standards for digital entertainment industry.

Regular lectures and workshops by visiting industry professionals help the students learn and imbibe valuable lessons and insights of the industry.

Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Autodesk Maya, Nuke, After Effects, PF Track, Art for Animation, Film Pre- Production, Film Production, Digital Art – Basic & Advanced, Cinematography, Motion Graphics, Script Development, Maya Foundation & Advanced, Compositing –After Effects (Basics & Advanced), Compositing – Nuke (Basics & Advanced), Video & Audio Editing.

Program Eligibility:

  • Xth / Xllth  Pass
  • Basic Artistic Skills are an added advantage
  • Fundamental knowledge in operating computers

Selection Process:

Creative Aptitude Test.

Students graduation film (visual effects short film -3 to 5 minutes duration):

Along with the practical submissions, students should have completed their graduation film. When they are planningtheir shot film, it should have the following elements in it.

 

  • Chroma shoot – green or blue
  • Keying and compositing
  • Set extension
  • Cg character
  • Color correction
  • Effect


Total duration to complete the graduation film: 8 weeks (Including Sat & Sunday)
